
Book summary
Set in the 1990s, the story follows Veda, a studious and ambitious 20-year-old from the hill town of Joshimath. Her dreams take a backseat when her parents arrange her marriage to Bhuwan, leading her to leave behind her family and best friend, Suraj, for a new life in Pune.
In Pune, Veda faces the challenges of an indifferent husband and a demanding mother-in-law. Amidst this, she discovers "Sankalp," an NGO dedicated to educating underprivileged children. Her involvement with Sankalp brings a sense of purpose and fulfillment, allowing her to break free from the constraints of her circumstances.
