About the Author 

Wu Qi was a Chinese military general, politician, and strategist who lived during the Warring States period around 440–381 BC. He served different Chinese states, including Wei and Chu, and became famous for his military skills and strict discipline. Wu Qi believed that success in war required organization, obedience, and intelligent leadership rather than bravery alone. He also introduced political and military reforms that strengthened the state of Chu. Because of his knowledge and experience in warfare, his teachings were collected in the book Wuzi, which is still studied as an important military classic today.
