About the Author 

Anant Pai, affectionately known as Uncle Pai, was an Indian educationalist and the creator of Indian comics, particularly the Amar Chitra Katha series, which retold traditional Indian folk tales, mythological stories, and biographies of historical characters. In 1980, he launched Tinkle, a children's anthology, under Rang Rekha Features, India's first comic and cartoon syndicate. He served as the Managing Director until 1998.

His work has left a lasting impact on children's literature in India, with both Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle continuing to be beloved by generations of readers.
