About the Author

Sterling Seagrave (1937–2017) was an American historian and investigative journalist renowned for his in-depth analyses of Asian political history. Born into a family of Christian missionaries in Southeast Asia, Seagrave developed a keen interest in the region's political dynamics. His works, including The Soong Dynasty, The Marcos Dynasty, and Gold Warriors, often focused on the clandestine aspects of political history in Eastern Asia. Seagrave's investigative approach and firsthand experiences in the region provided a unique perspective on the subjects he covered. He passed away in 2017 in France, where he had resided for over 30 years with his wife, Peggy Sawyer Seagrave.
