The volatile nature of Sanjay Gandhi is derived from his father. The book reveals Sanjay Gandhi’s obsession with cars and how that affected the forming of the Maruti factory. It portrays Sanjay Gandhi’s political career from emerging robustly after the Emergency period and becoming the Youth Congress leader. It examines in detail the rumours about Sanjay Gandhi during his political rise and does away with the myths created by the media about him. It also portrays in detail the overdose of the sterilisation campaign which was Sanjay Gandhi’s dream project to come to power and fame. The book tells the story of the rise and fall of the short lived political career that Sanjay Gandhi could carve till his fatal death.

About the Author

Vinod Mehta (1941–2015) was an influential Indian journalist, editor, and political commentator, renowned for his candid and often irreverent approach to journalism. Born in Rawalpindi, British India, he grew up in Lucknow, which significantly shaped his secular and liberal outlook. Mehta's career spanned several decades, during which he edited prominent publications such as The Sunday Observer, The Pioneer, and Outlook India, the latter of which he founded and led as editor-in-chief from 1995 to 2012 .
