The Mystery of Holly Lane is the eleventh book in the Five Find-Outers series (also called The Mysteries) by Enid Blyton. The story begins in the summer holidays when the five children—Larry, Fatty, Daisy, Pip, Bets—and their dog Buster are bored without a mystery to solve. Larry decides to dress up as a window cleaner, and while cleaning windows on Holly Lane, he inadvertently becomes involved in a crime: someone has stolen money from a blind old man. A few days later, all of the old man’s furniture also disappears under mysterious circumstances. The Find-Outers investigate, gathering clues, shadowing suspects, and using disguises. Among the suspects are Wilfred, the old man’s grandson, and Marian, his granddaughter. Marian also disappears, which makes things more complicated. While the local policeman Mr. Goon is certain Marian is the thief, Fatty (Frederick Algernon Trotteville) is unconvinced and keeps digging. In true Blyton fashion, the case involves red herrings, twists, and clever detective work, culminating in a surprising revelation about who was behind the theft and the disappearance of the furniture. 

About the Author – 

Enid Blyton (1897‑1968) was a British writer who became one of the most beloved children’s authors of the 20th century.
