About the Editor –

Mike Ashley (born 1948 in Southall, Middlesex, England) is a distinguished British bibliographer, writer, and editor, particularly revered for his authoritative work in science fiction, fantasy, and mystery. He has edited the long-running "Mammoth Book" series, which includes thematic anthologies across multiple genres. Besides his anthology work, Ashley has authored multi-volume histories of science fiction magazines and studies on British fiction periodicals, and contributed extensively to major reference works like The Encyclopedia of Fantasy and the third edition of The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction. His awards include the Edgar Award (2003), Bram Stoker Award (1995), and the Pilgrim Award for lifetime achievement in science fiction scholarship (2002). He lives in Chatham, Kent.
