About Author

Anne Frank (1929–1945) was a Jewish German-born diarist whose personal diary became one of the most important books in world literature. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and later moved with her family to Amsterdam, Netherlands, to escape Nazi persecution during World War II.

While hiding from the Nazis in a secret annex for over two years, Anne wrote a diary in which she shared her thoughts, feelings, hopes, and fears. Her writing shows great maturity, honesty, and insight, especially for someone so young. After the war, her diary was published by her father, Otto Frank, under the title The Diary of a Young Girl.
