About the Author:

Erle Stanley Gardner (1889–1970) was an American author and lawyer, best known for creating the Perry Mason series of legal detective stories. Gardner wrote over 80 Perry Mason novels, starting with The Case of the Velvet Claws in 1933. His works were immensely popular, making him one of the best-selling American authors of the 20th century. In addition to his fiction, Gardner was a dedicated advocate for justice reform and founded the Court of Last Resort, an organization aimed at investigating and rectifying miscarriages of justice. He also wrote nonfiction travel books and articles. Gardner passed away in 1970, leaving behind a legacy of compelling legal mysteries and a commitment to social justice.
