When foreign agents from the fictional Eastern European countries of Borduria and Syldavia try to kidnap Calculus to exploit his invention, Tintin and Haddock embark on a mission across Switzerland and into Borduria to rescue him. About the Author – 
Hergé, born Georges Remi (1907–1983), was a Belgian cartoonist and the creator of the globally beloved The Adventures of Tintin. His innovative ligne claire (“clear line”) style, paired with his meticulous research and storytelling, made Tintin’s adventures groundbreaking in the world of comics. With The Calculus Affair, Hergé reflected the anxieties of the Cold War era, addressing themes of espionage, science, and the dangers of technology.
