About the Author

A graduate in Classics and Moral Sciences from Cambridge, he lectured in philosophy before and during his cricketing career . After retiring from cricket in 1983, he became a psychoanalyst, motivational speaker, and writer—serving as President of the British Psychoanalytical Society and the MCC, and contributing to The Times and The Observer. His earlier works include the acclaimed The Art of Captaincy (1985), On Form (2017), and On Cricket—all blending cricketing wisdom with human psychology
