About the Author Dr. Dharmendra Bhandari taught at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, from 1983 to 2002. He has served as Advisor to the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Securities Scam in 1992-93 and as Officer on Special Duty to the Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai, in 1994-95. He has undertaken several UNDP missions for the governments of India, Egypt, Guyana, Jordan and Romania to promote foreign investment. He has also lectured extensively on investments by expatriate nationals at UNCTAD, Geneva; UNIDO, Vienna; UNDP, New York; and Harvard Law School, Massachusetts. Currently, he is on the board of directors of JP Morgan Mutual Fund and Harmony for Silvers Foundation, and serves on committees of the National Stock Exchange. He has also been a director on the board of Bank of Baroda, Dena Bank and Bank of Maharashtra, and served as institutional nominee director on behalf of ICICI, IDBI and UTI on the boards of prominent business houses such as the Tatas, Birlas and Singhanias. Dr Bhandari earned his doctorate in Commerce in 1982 and is also a chartered accountant.
