Meanwhile, Lan Mandragoran—last heir of the fallen nation of Malkier—is introduced as a broken warrior until his fateful meeting with Moiraine on the road to Kandor, which ultimately leads him to become her Warder.Together, they confront the Black Ajah and learn of internal betrayal within the Aes Sedai, forging their bond and setting in motion the events that will define the struggle against the Dark One.Though lighter on action than the main series, the novel deepens the backstory on Moiraine and Lan and explores themes of destiny, loyalty, and the undercurrents of power in the White Tower.

 About The Author:

Robert Jordan was the pen name of James Oliver Rigney Jr. (1948–2007), an American author best known for his epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time. A Vietnam War veteran and former nuclear engineer, Jordan brought a deep sense of history, military strategy, and mythological richness to his storytelling. Beginning with The Eye of the World in 1990, The Wheel of Time grew into a sprawling 14-book saga (plus a prequel, New Spring), renowned for its intricate world-building, complex characters, and deep philosophical themes. Jordan was influenced by J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as Eastern and Western mythologies, which helped shape the richly layered universe he created. He passed away in 2007 before completing the final book in the series, but left extensive notes that allowed fantasy author Brandon Sanderson to complete the work. Jordan’s legacy lives on as one of the most influential voices in modern fantasy literature.
