About the Author — 

Altaf Tyrewala is an Indian novelist, short-story writer, and translator known for his bold, minimalist prose and focus on urban alienation. Born in Mumbai in 1977, he gained critical acclaim with Mumbai Noir, which won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize (Asia-Pacific) in 2002. Tyrewala’s writing often explores themes of identity, displacement, sexuality, and social exclusion. In addition to his own fiction, he has translated works from Gujarati and Urdu into English, contributing to the preservation and wider reach of regional literature.
