Mother Teresa born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia, wanted to become a Nun and so she joined the Sisters of Loretto, an Irish Community of Nuns and missions in India. Mother Teresa came to India in 1931 and was moved by the prevailing poverty in India. She went on to serve the poor and downtrodden throughout her life.
