Clive Staples Lewis (1898–1963) was a British writer, theologian, and professor. He is best known for The Chronicles of Narnia, a fantasy series that blends adventure with Christian themes.

Lewis was a close friend of J. R. R. Tolkien (author of The Lord of the Rings) and was part of the Oxford literary group known as The Inklings. In addition to fiction, Lewis wrote many works on theology and philosophy, including "Mere Christianity" and "The Screwtape Letters."

His writing has touched generations of readers and continues to be widely read and loved today.
