About the Author – 

Ashok Kumar Banker, born in 1964 in Bombay (Mumbai), is a prolific Indian writer whose work spans mythological retelling, historical fiction, crime thrillers, fantasy, and science fiction. He gained international acclaim with his Ramayana series—an eight-volume, imaginative reinterpretation of the ancient Sanskrit epic, hailed as one of the most popular English retellings ever. His novels have sold over three million copies in 58 countries and translated into multiple languages. Before turning to fiction, Banker worked as a journalist and columnist for The Times of India and Outlook. He also created India’s first English-language television series, A Mouthful of Sky, and co-wrote Malaysia’s first serial in English. Though he now divides his time between Los Angeles and Mumbai, Banker’s storytelling remains deeply rooted in Indian myth, culture, and modern imagination.
