Dadabhoy Tata was closely associated with the steel industry for over four decades during his tenure as Chairman of Tata Iron and Steel Company. He encouraged the growth and diversification of Indian industry into a host of new endeavours from cosmetics, chemicals and electronics to genetics.

Divided into nine sections, the book consists of excerpts from J.R.D. Tata's speeches and Chairman's statements to shareholders made over a period exceeding fifty years.
