He served for many years as the anchor of the acclaimed television series In Conversation, where he interviewed prominent thinkers, leaders, and spiritual figures from around the world. A disciple of the late Swami Ranganathananda of the Ramakrishna Mission, Mehrotra has written and edited several books on spirituality and philosophy, including The Mind of the Guru, Thakur: A Biography of Ramakrishna, and Conversations with the Dalai Lama. He is also the managing trustee of The Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
