He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science, the American Philosophical Society and the National Academy of Sciences.

THEODOSIUS DOBZHANSKY is a Pro- fessor of Zoology at Columbia University and has been concerned chiefly with problems of genetics and evolution. He is the author of Genetics and the Origin of Species, which received the Daniel Giraud Elliot medal of the National Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the American Philosophical Society and the National Academy of Sciences
