About the Authors 

Dominique Lapierre (1931–2022) was a celebrated French journalist and bestselling author who reported for Paris Match before teaming up with American writer Larry Collins. Together, they crafted narrative histories like Is Paris Burning? and O Jerusalem!, blending investigative journalism with vivid storytelling. Lapierre was also a philanthropist, notably donating half the royalties from City of Joy to support disadvantaged communities in Kolkata through his foundation.
