Five Go to Mystery Moor (1954) is the thirteenth book in Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series. In this adventure, Julian, Dick, Anne, George (Georgina), and Timmy the dog are staying at Captain Johnson's Riding School. George is initially upset when her cousin Anne befriends Henrietta, a spirited girl who prefers to be called Henry. The tension between George and Henry adds a layer of complexity to their interactions.

The children learn about Mystery Moor, a desolate area with a mysterious history involving the Bartle family, who vanished under suspicious circumstances. They also encounter a group of gypsies heading to the moor, leading to further intrigue. The Famous Five discover that the gypsies are involved in smuggling counterfeit American banknotes, which are dropped from an airplane. George and Anne are captured and held in a cave but are rescued with the help of Henry and a boy named William. A gypsy boy named Sniffer assists in their escape, and George promises to reward him with a red bicycle and a family to live with. The police arrive to apprehend the criminals, bringing the adventure to a close. 

About the Author: 

Enid Blyton (1897–1968) was a prolific British author renowned for her children's books. Her most famous works include the Famous Five, Secret Seven, Five Find-Outers, Noddy, and Malory Towers series.
