About the Author:

Rachel Renée Russell (born March 13, 1959) is an American author best known for her Dork Diaries series, along with the spin‑off The Misadventures of Max Crumbly. She grew up in St. Joseph, Michigan, one of five siblings, went to Northwestern University and law school, and prior to being a full‑time writer she worked as an attorney. Russell’s books are often diary‑style narratives with doodles and cartoonish sketches, capturing the humorous, awkward, and relatable adventures of a tween girl, Nikki Maxwell, trying to find her place in middle school.
