Book Summary
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel is the seventh book in the popular series by Jeff Kinney. The story follows Greg Heffley, a middle schooler who is constantly dealing with the awkward and often hilarious challenges of adolescence. In this installment, Greg reflects on his early childhood and how he’s always been unlucky in love. When a Valentine’s Day dance is announced at school, Greg is determined to find a date. With little success on his own, he teams up with his best friend Rowley Jefferson to find a girl to go with them. In a twist of events, Rowley ends up being the one who gets a date, and Greg becomes the “third wheel” at the dance. As always, Greg’s plans don’t quite go as expected, leading to an evening full of chaos, humor, and embarrassment. The book humorously explores the themes of friendship, social awkwardness, and the ups and downs of growing up.
