Koyoharu Gotouge is a Japanese manga artist best known for creating Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Born on May 5, 1989, in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, Gotouge debuted in the manga industry with the one-shot Kagarigari in 2013. Demon Slayer, serialized from 2016 to 2020, achieved unprecedented success, with over 150 million copies in circulation by February 2021, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. In 2021, Gotouge was honored with the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and was featured in Time's list of the 100 Most Influential People, becoming the first manga artist to receive this recognition.
