HUGH HELFERTY grew up on a farm in the Ottawa Valley. earned a PhD in chemistry and a MBA, and went on to lead research at one of the world's largest companies. He and his family have lived in nine different cities and towns across Canada and the United States and have visited more than twenty countries. Currently Hugh and his wife, Sarita Karve. live in Houston and Toronto. He is an adjunct faculty member at Queen's University, where he teaches Science Leadership.
