About the Author:

Charles Frambach Berlitz (November 22, 1914 – December 18, 2003) was an American polyglot, linguist, and prolific author. Born in New York City, he was grandson of Maximilian Berlitz (founder of Berlitz Language Schools) and grew up immersed in linguistic diversity—speaking German, Russian, Spanish, English and more by adolescence. He would go on to master over twenty languages with fluency in many .
Educated at Yale University (magna cum laude), Berlitz joined the family language‐teaching enterprise, serving as vice president and authoring numerous pocket guides, phrasebooks, and tape courses. He left Berlitz in the late 1960s after the company was sold.
Beyond language, Berlitz gained fame for popularizing theories about the Bermuda Triangle and Atlantis, often appealing to sensational or paranormal interpretations that were later criticized by skeptics and scholars
