Book Summary –
A Season of Ghosts is a captivating collection of ghost stories by Ruskin Bond, blending mystery, nostalgia, and a touch of the supernatural. Set in the misty hills of Mussoorie and other quiet corners of India, the stories explore encounters with spirits, haunted houses, and unexplained phenomena. The title story, where Bond plays a fictionalized version of himself, sees the narrator becoming the town’s unofficial ghost-hunter. Each tale is told with Bond’s signature charm and subtle wit, never relying on horror or gore, but instead evoking eerie atmospheres and the quiet thrill of the unknown. Whether it's the ghost of a colonial officer, a mysterious hitchhiker, or a haunted mansion, these stories are more about the mood than the scare—making them both unsettling and beautifully human.
