About the Author

Edward Morgan Forster (1879–1970) was an English novelist, essayist, and critic. Known for novels such as Howard’s End, A Room with a View, and A Passage to India, Forster’s work often explores class difference, hypocrisy, and the possibility of human connection.

He visited India twice, and his experiences deeply influenced this novel. A Passage to India was his last and most critically acclaimed novel. He never published another fiction work after its release.
