The Princess Diaries is a popular young - adult novel series penned by Meg Cabot, who says that the stories she has put down in words have been inspired from her own life. This series comprises of 10 volumes, of which the sixth is Sixsational (The Princess Diaries). This book also revolves around Mia Thermopolis, the princess of Genovia and portrays more chaos in her world.

In this volume, trouble begins for Mia right from the start of a new school term. First, her one true love, Michael, has left her all alone to go far away to a college. So now poor Mia must single - handedly grapple the grievances school years always bring with them.

At school, Mia does find her fair share of troubles in the form of her English teacher, who makes no bones about not liking her. Then her best friend nominates her to be the president of the school when she is reluctant. and finally there is a bigger trouble of an impending eco - disaster hanging like a naked sword over their heads. Life for Mia seems as if it cannot get any worse than this until Grandmere and Lily appear on the scene. Will these two help Mia cope with it all?
