Souad Mekhennet is a German journalist and author renowned for her in-depth reporting on terrorism, extremism, and the Middle East. Born in Frankfurt in 1978 to a Turkish mother and a Moroccan father, she spent part of her childhood in Morocco before returning to Germany. Her multicultural background and fluency in Arabic, German, French, and English have enabled her to bridge cultural divides and gain unique access to sources in both Western and Arab
