Nightfall(Bantam Spectra Book) is a sci - fi novel by Isaac Asimov and Robert Silverberg, that occurs on a planet, which isn't aware of the darkness it is soon going to fall into. As per the Science Fiction Writers of America, this book was voted the best during the Nebula Awards in the year 1968. This story has been adapted into various short stories and anthologies too.
Nightfall(Bantam Spectra Book) is the story of a fictional planet named Lagash, which has six suns keeping the planet bright throughout, without any concept of the night or darkness. A bunch of scientists at Saro University eventually join the broken pieces of something that happened in the past and is likely to happen soon again. They discover that once in two thousand years, something from the external universe destroys their whole civilisation and the next time it is supposed to happen it's very far. These scientists are trying to understand the cause of the calamity soon heading towards them, while the people of the planet aren't ready to face the darkness.
The book was adapted by two movies in 1988 and the year 2000 and was also taken for the hundredth episode of a sci - fi podcast named Escape Pod. RHUS published Nightfall (Bantam Spectra Book) in 1991 and is available in paperback.
