About the author

Geronimo Stilton and Thea Stilton series. Born in Milan in 1958, she began her publishing career at 13 as a proofreader for her father's publishing house, Dami Editore. At 19, she started writing her own stories. Her adventurous spirit led her to earn pilot and parachutist licenses by age 20, and at 23, she traveled around the world solo. Dami has also participated in a Sahara rally, crossed Africa in an off-road vehicle, and run marathons, including three New York City marathons.

In 1990, after discovering she could not have children, Dami began volunteering at a children's hospital. Inspired by this experience, she created the character of Geronimo Stilton—a clumsy, adventurous mouse journalist. The series became a publishing sensation in Italy and internationally, with over 180 million copies sold worldwide.
