When Shivaji was born, most of Western India was under the sway of foreign rulers. As a boy he took an oath to fight for freedom and liberate the people.
The three titles in this collection tell stories that have been taken from historical records as well as from legend. They tell of the life of a great warrior king whose indomitable spirit was nurtured by an inspiring mother. They tell of the enormous respect he had for women and the honour he showed a courageous opponent. And they also tell of his faithful band of followers, especially the lion-hearted Tanaji Malusare.
