Love's Labour's Lost
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
The fantastic plot, the light and witry dialogue and the sheet grace of Love's Labour's Last have made it one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies
It is a gentle satire on the artificiality of Court life, and the plot revolves around the King of Navarre, who has retired to the country with three of his lords so that they may study philosophy They forvwear pleasure, in particular the company of women, fut when they are visited by the Princess of France with three of her ladies, the comedy begins. The ridiculous minor characters, especially Don Armado, a sexdy confidence trickster and Holofernes the pedantic and prolix schoolmaster help to prolong the complications of the plot.
