The Racketeer, available in paperback, is a novel which describes the revenge taken by a man who is imprisoned on false allegations and is then asked to help the FBI in solving the mysterious death of a federal judge.
The protagonist in this story is Malcolm Bannister. He's involved in a deal involving a hunting lodge, where illegal activities were carried out. Bannister isn't aware of it, but ends up in trouble with the FBI. He is arrested and it subsequently results in him having to spend 10 years in jail because of the Racketeer Influenced And Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
In The Racketeer, there's a twist in the story when five years into imprisonment, Bannister has a divorce and loses his son. He's expelled from his work. During that time, Raymond Fogletree, a federal judge is killed and it's a mystery the FBI is unable to solve. They need Bannister's help, to which he agrees only if they set him free.
The Racketeer, was published on 5th November, 2012. The book becomes very interesting when the FBI has to listen to everything Bannister dictates. It further describes the various events that take place while Bannister tries to take revenge for punishing him for his uncommitted crime.
